10 Quotes That Will Make You Thank A Teacher

These quotes affirm that good teachers are everyday heroes!

Think about your life for a moment — your career, your family, your dreams. Out of the handful of people you could thank for where you are today, odds are a teacher is at least one.

Pre-K–12th grade students in the U.S. spend a third of their lives in school. That means, next to our parents, teachers are the most influential authority figures in our lives. At best, they fulfill so much more than just a job. They hold us accountable. They provide a safe space for discussion. They expand our understanding of the world. They challenge our beliefs. They inspire us to reach for the heights.
Teachers expand our understanding of the world.
Shockingly, it can often be a thankless job. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re taking a moment to recognize teachers and the vital role they play in society. Here are 10 quotes to remind you of why you should thank a teacher.

  1. “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.”—Bill Gates

  2. “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.”—Brad Henry

  3. “I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.”—John Steinbeck

  4. “Teachers can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges.”—Joyce Meyer

  5. “I think the teaching profession contributes more to the future of our society than any other single profession.”—John Robert Wooden

  6. “Everyone who remembers his own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques. The teacher is the heart of the educational system.”—Sidney Hook

  7. “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.”—Albert Einstein

  8. “Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well.”—Aristotle

  9. “What do I consider a teacher should be? One who breathes life into knowledge so that it takes new form in progress and civilization.”—Helen Keller

  10. “The test of a good teacher is not how many questions he can ask his pupils that they can readily answer, but how many question he inspires them to ask which he finds it hard to answer.”—Alice Wellington Rollins

Teachers are entrusted with our most precious gifts — our children. Teachers at CCA love God and are equipped with his gift of teaching and shepherding to help train students to be leaders in a world who needs them more than ever. We’re so thankful for the men and women at CCA and across the country who educate and inspire children every day to be the best they can be.
