On Saturday, your CCA Eagles Swim and Dive Teams competed in Ocala at the FHSAA Class 2A Swim & Dive Championships, and brought home the hardware! We had 3 relays teams medal! Our Girls 200 Free Relay placed 4th and our 400 Free Relay placed 8th. Congratulations to Christina Paschal, Summer Poling, Dylan Kanell, Marley Tyner, and alternate Sarah Porras-Aguilar. Christina and Marley also both medaled in the 50 Free (Marley 6th, Christina 8th) and the 100 Free (Marley 7th, Christina 8th). Our boys team also made it to the podium, placing 7th in the 200 Free Relay. Congratulations to Uriah Campbell, Jeremiah Paiz, Daniel Cunha, Christian King, and alternate Robert Albertini. Christian also swam in the consolation final for the 200 Freestyle and placed 12th. Overall our girls team placed 6th out of 41 schools from around the state, and our boys team placed 24th our of 43 schools. This was our best team showing ever. Way to go, Eagles!!!!
Congratulations to our CCA Swimmers and Diver on their great performance at the Class 2A Region 4 Swim and Dive Championships that were held on Friday and Saturday. Out of 19 schools, both our girls and boys teams scored 6th overall. Many of our swimmers swam personal bests, and the following athletes qualified for the State Championships in Ocala next weekend: Luci Fazio, Dylan Kanell, Christina Paschal, Summer Poling, Marley Tyner, Robert Albertini, Uriah Campbell, Daniel Cunha, Christian King, Jeremiah Paiz. On Monday our CCA Eagles brought home 2 trophies for scoring 2nd out of 10 teams at the 2A District 10 Championship meet held at the Pompano Aquatic Center. Our girls team was led by high scorers Dylan Kanell, Summer Poling, Christina Paschal, and Marley Tyner. Our boys team was led by Robert Albertini, Uriah Campbell, Daniel Cunha, Christian King, and Jeremiah Paiz. Multiple swimmers will be moving on to compete at the Regional Championships next week. Go Eagles!!!!
Tuesday afternoon, our CCA Eagles Swim and Dive Team traveled to North Broward Prep School to compete. Our girls team won 101 to 52, and the boys team won by an even larger margin of 116 to 44. Our swimmers swept all 6 relays. The girls were led with first place wins by Summer Poling, Marley Tyner, Christina Paschal, and Dylan Kanell. The boys team took first place in most events as well led by Thiago Gomez-Liendo, Christian King (2 wins), Uriah Campbell (2 wins), and Jeremiah Paiz. Way to go, Eagles!!!
Saturday morning your CCA Eagle Swim Team arrived at the annual South Florida Christian Schools Invitational meet, ready to cook! Scoring was led by Dylan Kanell, Christina Paschal, Uriah Campbell and Robert Albertini. Our team personal best times were too many to count. Our girls team won the runner up award plaque for scoring second place overall out of 9 schools, and our boys team also scored well, placing third overall. Way to go, Eagles!!!!
Wednesday afternoon, September 4, the CCA Eagles Swim Team made a splash in their double dual season opener. The Eagles Men's and Women's Swim Team lost to the strong Pine Crest School Swim Team, 253 to 111. But our Eagles defeated Somerset Academy with a total score of 210 to 113. Our team was led in scoring by Christina Paschal, Marley Tyner, Dylan Kanell, Christian King, Uriah Campbell, and Robert Albertini. Way to go, Eagles!!!
